Hey girls it time for the first Girls Night Out of 2009!!! And we are going ice skating.

  • When- Jan 10th 6-8 pm ( be there at 5:45 to get our skates before the session starts)
  • Where- The weber ice sheet in the same parking lot of the Dee Event Center
  • Cost- $6.00
  • Call Angie with any questions and i hope to see you all there!

*This activity is not sponsored by Avis, this is the beginging of our GIRLS NIGHT OUT. We wanted to keep the activities going so we could still spend time with each other, make lasting friendships, have support for one another, enjoy the opportunity to get out of the house, and so on. This is a come if you can make it and the costs of activities will be paid on your own. We have decided that the activities will always be on the 1st Saturday of every month. This activity is on the 2nd Saturday so that it does not interfere with anyone who may be out of town over New Years. We are assigning each month to a different spouse. That still needs to be worked out, we will keep you posted! Thanks Angie for getting this planned!

The New Wive's Club or Girls' Night Out

Hello ladies!

I am very sad to see that Wive's Club ended as of December, but I am excited to try something new. For me, the concept of Wive's Club was for all of us to spend time with each other, make friends, have support for one another, enjoy the opportunity to get out of the house, and so on. Well...I don't want to see that end, but I don't think it has to.

Here is my idea and I am looking for HONEST feedback. Please tell me how you feel without worrying about hurting my feelings. The best result is what works for all of us as a group. That cannot happen without your honest opinion.

I would like to plan a "Girls' Night Out" each month with the following ideas in mind:

  • The date is pre-determined every month (e.g., the first Friday night of every month)
  • Each wife has the opportunity to plan the activity so we can experience the interests of the whole group
  • Everyone is invited/included in every activity and she can choose whether or not she would like to come
  • Everyone pays their own way
  • We continue to have fun with each other

Please tell me what you think. What about starting in January? A new year....

Birthdays...What Do We Do?

Does anyone have suggestions for how we can handle birthdays as a group so that...

  • Everyone is recognized on their birthday
  • No one is left out or feels like they are not a part of the group
  • It is not a financial burden or obligation for people to recognize birthdays
  • Whatever is done is fun and appreciated by the birthday person

What does everyone think? How can we do this together? Post your comments and let's figure out how to do this!!!

Little Future Salesmen

Teethbrush and Cam are such cute future little salesmen. They both love cars, so it is inevitable that they will follow in their fathers' footsteps!

For all of you "official" Avis Crew, what's up? Where are your posts? I know you stop by the blog and check out the new pics, comments and posts, but why don't you leave anything before you go? Maybe a quick comment, joke, a photo, an update on the happenings of your day at Avis. Leave something!!! Go ahead...I double-dog dare you!

Don't Quit Your Day Jobs

It is just when you want your husband (okay, in my case boyfriend-sounds junior highish - or partner - brings its own ideas to the minds of people - or significant other - pretty impersonal to me - so we just go with that guy I live with) to find a new day job so he can be home a little more often that you see a video like this. Then, you can only come to the stark realization, that they really shouldn't quit their day job. At least if they do, American Idol is definitely not the answer. :)

WARNING: THE VIDEO IS DARK TO KEEP THE IDENTITIES OF THE SINGERS SEMI-SECRET.

The Winning Team

Just a note from the winning team...it was hard work, but someone had to kick butt. Here's a little picture walk of our scavenger hunt. Before you begin, let me thank my team: Tim, Dakota, Curtis and Greg (and Rick, who jumped on the band-wagon of the winning team no matter who it was; and, Russ, who was on our team, but opted to not play with us and take the credit as a team member anyway...Love you guys!).

Find 2 cantaloupes and take a picture in an artistic pose.
Love the art!

One of our team members washing his hair in a gas station bathroom. Wow Curty, that is taking one for the team. Seriously.

Get a picture with any living animal. Did you ask the Safety Manager if that dog was safe?

This one was an easy one for our team...

...Take a picture of any team member in full clown make-up. Thanks for the Freebie Dakota!

Our team's remake of an angry wizard scene from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Find a set of drums (Thank you Rick for buying Rockband!) and take a picture of a teammate playing them. This is one of only 2 pictures that I'm in. But I'm a great driver, or at least in my mind I am.

Our team, posing as scared chickens, at the local KFC. After Deanna's video expose from Pam Anderson on the chickens at KFC, we didn't quite pull off the real deal.

What pose are you trying to mimic?

Curtis and his best friend--the freak with the striped shirt.

Dakota's French fry duel.

Greg and the infamous red button.

Dakota is quenching his thirst with a nice cup of air.

The super hero with a light bulb, PVC pipe and screw.

And, the one that was the "hard one." Here is bowling a strike on the i-phone.

MIKE AND DUFF

THE GIRLS...NICOLE, AMBER, CODY JO, MORGAN, DEANNA, ANGIE

DOUG AND KAREN...HOW WELL DID LESLIE PREDICT YOUR FUTURE?

DAKOTA (BOZO) THE CLOWN

DEANNA'S SUPER TEAM POSING LIKE THE STATUE IN THE BACKGROUND

AND WE'RE OFF ON A SCAVENGER HUNT! SUCH FUN!!!

RICK AND NIKKI--THE PRIEST AND THE SCHOOL GIRL

RUSS AND DEANNA--A MUSKETEER AND MARIE ANTOINETTE
"OFF WITH HIS HEAD FOR DITCHING HIS TEAM FOR THE SCAVENGER HUNT!"

CASEY AND JJ--A BAR MAID AND A SCOTTISH FELLOW? WHAT EXACTLY IS UNDER THOSE SKIRTS? :)

DALYNN AND SHANE--THE PORN STAR COUPLE

MORGAN AND CURTIS--A COWGIRL AND HER FAITHFUL HORSE
(DOESN'T THE SONG GO, "SAVE A HORSE, RIDE A COWBOY?")

CODY JO AND NATE--FRED AND WILMA

ANGIE AND GREG--BORDER PATROL AND HER MEXICAN

KIM AND AL--THE GREY'S ANATOMY LOVEBIRDS

AMBER AND T-DOT--LITTLE RED AND HER BIG, BAD WOLF

Avis' Annual Halloween Party was a success! We enjoyed a lovely soup and bread bowl dinner, after which we seperated into teams and went on a Scavenger Hunt around Ogden. It was tons of fun getting various "Ogdenites" to help us with our tasks while in full costumes! We all came back to "Home Base" and announced the winners for the hunt. A big congrats to Greg & Angie for best couple costume-AYYYYREEEEBA:-) And also to Amber for struttin' her stuff in the best female costume! It was all great fun and we are happy to be a part of such a wonderful family. Love you all...Deanna.

P.S.-Enjoy the pics!

October Spouse Activity

This month we combined forces and held a pumpkin carve at Avis for a family activity! The kids really enjoyed themselves and got to take their keepsakes home to display!

Also, just a reminder to R.S.V.P for the Halloween party this Saturday! We have many adventures planned for our "Adults Only" extravaganza and we can hardly wait to get started. Please remember to wear a costume (YES-it IS an entry requirement!), a positive attitude, about $5 cash, and a digital camera. Did I mention come ready to PaRtY?! See you there!!
